Meet Katie

In my practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I support adults, children, couples and families to foster connection and healthy relationships.

I provide individual, couples, family and play therapy in the San Antonio, Texas. I specialize in helping children and families navigate the joys and challenges of parenting at any age, co-parenting, new parenthood, adolescents transitioning to adulthood, and other major life transitions such as divorce.

The majority of my practice focuses on work with children and families.  I use an attachment-focused approach to help parents, co-parents, and families strengthen connections, improve communication, and foster healthy parent-child relationships.

I offer a safe, compassionate space for families to find support, strengthen connections, and grow through change. If my approach feels like a good fit, I would be honored to walk alongside you—please reach out to begin the conversation.

    Center for Families in Transition

Dr. Becky Davenport and I founded the Center for Families in Transition (CFIT) to walk alongside families navigating divorce. Our mission is to support parents as they adjust to parenting between two homes, offering guidance and tools to ease this challenging season. We believe families can emerge from separation not just intact, but healthy, resilient, and ready to create a positive future for their children.

Through CFIT, I provide Child-focused & Family Therapy services, Collaborative Divorce services, Parenting Coordination, Parenting Facilitation and other supportive, divorce-focused resources.

    Collaborative Divorce

As a trained Mental Health Neutral (MHP) in the Collaborative Divorce process, I help families move through one of life’s most difficult transitions with integrity, respect, and care. My background as a Marriage and Family Therapist reflects my passion for supporting healthy relationships—even when that means parting ways. Traditional litigation often leaves families hurting, while Collaborative Divorce offers a private, child-focused, and future-oriented alternative that fosters respect and healthier co-parenting. I provide these neutral services through the Center for Families in Transition.

    Parenting Coordination & Parenting Facilitation

Parenting Coordination and Parenting Facilitation are both court-appointed services that help reduce conflict, strengthen co-parenting, and support children’s well-being. As a neutral professional, I assist parents in improving communication, resolving disputes, and implementing parenting plans. The main difference is confidentiality: Parenting Coordination is private, while Parenting Facilitation is not and may include reports or recommendations to the court. I provide both services through the Center for Families in Transition.

    Child-focused & Family Therapy

The therapy services I provide are designed to support families through the challenges of divorce and separation. I help co-parents reduce conflict, strengthen communication, and nurture healthy parent–child relationships in both homes. Each family’s journey is unique, so therapy is tailored to meet your child’s and family’s specific needs.

Therapy may be voluntary or court-ordered. I do not provide custody evaluations or recommendations regarding parenting schedules or custody modifications, but can provide referrals for these services.
