Therapy Services
Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a specialized type of therapy that facilitates emotional processing through play. I have sought extensive training to provide play therapy for children ages 3 to 18 years old. The type of play therapy I practice with children depends on many factors including: age, developmental stage, the type of current or ongoing challenges they are experiencing, and family history. Parents can expect to be highly involved in the therapy process with their children.
I may use a variety of different types of therapeutic techniques in my work with children including art, sand, bibliotherapy (stories), and, of course, I provide lots of toys to play with!
Young children are limited in their ability to express their experiences verbally, so they express themselves through play. With adolescents, I use a combination of the techniques mentioned above and make greater use of traditional talk-therapy. Adolescents are incredibly creative but they also tend to vary in the type of therapeutic techniques they prefer and feel work best for them.
Couples Therapy
I love working with couples who are wanting to make changes to their parenting style, improve their co-parenting relationship, are working on blending their family, are struggling with coping with challenges during the divorce process, or who are wanting to strengthen their parent-child connection.
Like in other forms of therapy I practice, I use an attachment lens to help couples and parents/co-parents foster secure connections either in their relationships with one another and/or in their parent-child relationships. I am trained in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) which is an evidence based approach to psychotherapy that supports the breaking of stressful patterns of interaction and the development of healthier responses to emotional needs in relationships.

Family Therapy
As an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I have specialized and extensive training to provide therapy for families. Family therapy is usually focused on enhancing attachment relationships, improving communication, changing approaches to parenting, and education on child development and stages of life.
Family therapy can also take a variety of different forms. It can include families with young children or families with adult children, blended families, extended family, one parent and child, or several parents/parental figures and children.
Every family member has a different viewpoint, and each viewpoint is valuable in working together to improve the quality of relationships within the family system.
Individual Therapy
I work with adults (18+) who are experiencing new or ongoing challenges in their lives including struggles with depression, anxiety, relational conflict, low self-esteem, grief/loss, adjustment to changing life circumstances, divorce or loss of a long-term relationship, or clients experiencing high levels of stress.
Individual therapy can be a great option for someone wanting to gain insight, increase their level of self-awareness, get ongoing support for making changes in their life, cope with mental health challenges, and so much more. It can lead to better individual functioning and an improvement in the important relationships in a client’s life.
Teletherapy
Teletherapy is available to clients and families who are a good fit. Some of the benefits of Teletherapy include improved access to care for clients who are homebound, lack reliable transportation, or do not have providers near them. Teletherapy can also be beneficial for those who are more comfortable communicating online rather than face to face and often offers more flexibility with scheduling.
As a certified Teletherapy provider, services with me are available to Texas Residents only. I provide Teletherapy services for individual adults (18+) and Families. Appropriateness of services for children will be made on a case by case basis.
If possible, it is strongly recommended that the initial session be done face to face so the appropriateness of Teletherapy can be evaluated. If found to be helpful, I will provide information on how to use the appropriate technology and review best practices to ensure that sessions run smoothly.
Court-Involved Therapy
I provide court-ordered, court-appointed, and court-involved therapy services (as defined by AFCC Guidelines) for families and children. The types of therapy I provide includes reunification therapy, skills-based therapeutic approaches (such as New Ways for Families), and coparenting therapy. I also provide additional court-ordered services that are not considered therapy such as parenting coordination, and parenting facilitation.
There are also some court-ordered services that I do not provide including psychological/psychiatric evaluations and custody evaluations. If it is determined that court-involved/court-ordered clients who engage me as their psychotherapist are in need of these additional services, I am happy to provide referrals to professionals who can assist them.
Legal professionals who are considering appointing me as their client’s court-ordered therapist are welcome to contact me directly to inquire about my services and availability for support.
